Until about 6 months ago, I hadn’t visited any 'super natural healers', although a little curious I just hadn’t the calling. Call it fate or in large part due to the Souls project, they have come a knocking. Preceding the Byron Palm reader I have seen psychics, shamans & an astrologer. That seems big now that I write it. This is the charm of the town we live in, it is all available. I have said it before, my mind that was somewhat closed and at times sceptic, has been opened since moving to the Byron Shire. It has been shown to me, time and again that my mind cannot conceive how vast and unknown the mystery really is.
The Byron Palm reader is a landmark on the streets of Byron, he has been for years. This particular day had us running through the rain, it was pouring, balmy and a little dreary. Sure enough he was waiting as always on the street with his signature sign and this particular day his umbrella. I had been told previously by others that his readings were not light and fluffy and some even went so far as to say it was not the most pleasant experience that they'd had. I was fine with that and completely up for the challenge. After four shots I knew I had the photo I wanted to use, he then proceeded to read my palm. The faint smell of tobacco reminded me of my grandfather, rough, stained fingers traced mine, his distant far away eyes not meeting my gaze, his disfigured ears were fascinating and told a story unto their own. It was a surreal experience. His words were an echo of the previous healers, experience has shown me that these healers are tapping into a universal energy. They all stated clearly that everything can change and that there is always free will involved. It is uncanny how akin their words were.
The Shaman in Peru told me, "It is all for you, take the nectar of life and just enjoy it!" His sentiments were to be echoed and I was to be constantly reminded by each healer I saw, the Byron Palm reader was no exception. He spoke about love and once again I was told that I have a deep belief, to the core of me, in profound love. A love that is out of this world yet of this world. Most are happy to settle with a good connection, me apparently will not settle for anything less than earth shattering, cosmic kind! He went on...... long, prosperous, happy life, full of beauty and creativity, (this was sounding good, I was liking this) and then he started yelling and I when I say yelling, I mean really loudly in the main street of downtown Byron. "If you can just get over your childhood, really just get over it! Get out of that mind of yours and just have a great life!" By this time we had a little crowd surrounding and by this point Elle and I were hysterical.
As I had been told, the Byron Palm reader tells it like it is. You want sweet talking, you have come to the wrong street corner. I quite liked his directness and certainly felt jolted to deviate from my usual fallback to delve down memory lane. The Byron Palm reader was tough, almost like a papa who wants the best for his daughter, he sees it how it is and makes sure you get the message. Being yelled at in Main street for all to hear, was a turning point for me. As funny as it was, I took heed!
Elle thought she might have a go, get her dose of truth, I was surprised as the last psychic we saw she told him he was inaccurate and he had got it all wrong! (Ohhh I love this woman). My beautiful sister, is so finely in tune with her inner knowing, her intuition some of the most precise I have witnessed. She who held out for divine love, her love story the greatest I know. The Byron Palm reader looked at Elles palm and told her he refused to read her palm as "She knows it all anyway". Aha Yes! This was hilarious! So funny as I write this remembering Elle's last psychic encounter.
The everyday adventures of of the Byron Soul sisters, it just keeps getting better.
